Control Systems Engineer - Monaco

For a global company based in the Netherlands specialized in offshore oil and gas systems and services we are looking for a Control Systems Engineer for a permanent position in Monaco.


Responsibilities and Main Tasks
  • Primarily provide direction on all matters relating to computer control systems to operational line management, all Marine Units and to other divisions of the Company. Secondary, responsibility for instrumentation systems.
  • Provide direction on computer control systems to FSO / FPSO’s and Shore Bases, in particular Fire & Gas, Cause & Effect, Distributed Control Systems as and when required.
  • Implement effective controls to ensure DCS and other software is maintained and protected against uncontrolled corruption or alteration.
  • Perform technical audits on board the Marine Units with particular emphasis on the control of critical DCS and computer operations and issue reports to Management.
  • Provide assistance on all matters relating to control systems and instrumentation to Classification Societies and subcontractors.
  • Provide input to new projects through review of design documents and specifications to ensure good operating practice and expertise is incorporated.
  • Undertake personnel assessments and identify training necessary in order to assure competence of the control system personnel offshore in accordance with Company’s established Competency requirements. Take corrective actions wherever required.
  • Maintain comprehensive records, demonstrating competency of all Control Systems Engineers offshore.
  • Coordinate and manage design change requests for control systems and instrument modifications, major repairs, and overhaul works, and supervise and direct execution of the work as necessary.
  • Take part in reliability studies and help establish maintenance philosophies.
  • To deputise for and support the Instrument Engineer in times of high workload.
Job Requirements
  • Engineering qualification in control system and instrumentation technology.
  • Minimum of 10 years in the marine and/or production plant industry preferably with some FPSO/FSO experience in respect of computer control systems equipment and instrumentation.

The Business Analyst Master Data acts as a cross-functional liaison between the different CoE’s and the different Operating Companies in scope.

In collaboration with the local IT Demand organization:

  • He will provide day to day functional support/application administration for the different Operating Companies in scope in the master data area.

  • SAP Modules:
    o SAP ECC 6.0 
    o SD, LO, MM, 
    o SAP IS-Retail
  • SAP Support environment:
    o Release management
    o Transports and authorization concept
  • Knowledge of BI will be considered an asset
  • Excellent command of Microsoft solutions (Office, Project, Visio)
Languages
  • Excellent command of the English language both written & spoken. Knowledge of French and/or Dutch will be considered an asset
